Unfortunately many people are currently facing financial hardship, and the cost of groceries continue to rise. This makes it particularly difficult for students who are unable to afford food for their families.
MaKami wants to help make sure no student who needs food goes without. That’s why we are asking anyone who is able to donate non-perishable food items to the food pantry from April 1-30, 2026.
All donated non-perishable food items will be distributed back to MaKami students who are in need on a first come, first serve basis on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 and Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 12:30pm until 1:00pm and 4:00pm to 4:30pm. Please note, we can provide a limit of one food hamper per student for this event.
To donate, bring in your items to the food donation box in your campus. See below for some great examples of non-perishable food donations.
Please note: If you are a student in need, we encourage you to stop by the SALT office in your campus.
