MaKami College was recently featured in Global Calgary’s TV segment Trending, which focuses on innovative companies in the city.
In this segment, MaKami shares its history, its current growth and its innovative technologies which set the school apart from other post-secondary institutions.
“MaKami has always been very advanced in its use of technologies, so the stuff MaKami’s been doing from day one is usually a step above what everyone is focused on,” says MaKami’s CEO Marija Pavkovic-Tovissi. “Education is something that we haven’t revolutionized in more than 50 years and I think it’s important that education get a facelift and that it be brought into today’s world with today’s needs.”
The interview features Mehrad Faridan, mixed reality developer and researcher, who has been researching and presenting his findings on the use of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) in more tactile classroom settings such as massage therapy, health care aide and more. You can learn more about Faridan’s research in our blog, MaKami College and University of Calgary Publish Research Paper on Virtual Reality.
