At MaKami College, we understand the importance of flexible programs and know that students have different preferences and circumstances when it comes to their education. As a result, we provide three types of learning options: traditional in-class, online, and blended programs. By offering these different pathways, we cater to the individual needs and goals of our students, giving them the flexibility and options to pursue their education in the manner that best suits them.
Traditional In-Class Learning
Our traditional learning approach at MaKami College takes place in classrooms at both our Calgary and Edmonton campuses. This allows students to engage and interact with their teachers and classmates directly. This in-person learning environment is especially advantageous for courses that require hands-on practice, like our Massage Therapy program. By actively participating in practical activities, students who prefer hands-on learning can fully immerse themselves in the subject matter and develop valuable real-world skills. This hands-on approach not only enhances their understanding but also prepares them for the practical aspects of their future careers.
Online Learning
For students who need to balance their studies with other commitments, such as jobs, our online learning option is ideal. With this option, you can learn from anywhere at your own pace, whether asynchronously or synchronously. For example, our Business Administration Assistant and Alberta Basic Security Training programs are fully online. These programs offer a wide range of resources, virtual classrooms, and support services to ensure that students feel fully engaged and supported throughout their studies.
Whether you’re a working professional or have other commitments that require flexibility, our online learning option provides you with the convenience and freedom to pursue your education without compromising the quality of your learning experience.
Blended Programs
Our blended programs mix in-class and online learning. A great example is our blended Health Care Aide Certificate program. This program combines online coursework with in-person clinicals in a hands-on environment. It’s designed for students who appreciate online flexibility but also value practical, face-to-face learning experiences. This balance makes the blended program an excellent choice for those looking for a flexible approach while still having hands-on learning.
Comparing Pathways
Choosing the right educational path can be challenging. We understand this and offer guidance to help students explore their options. Our Student Advisory Services (SAS) team takes the time to understand each student’s unique needs and goals. We compare program options in traditional, online, and blended learning pathways to find the best for each student.
Choosing the right learning pathway is crucial for your success. We encourage you to consider what works best for you. For more information or to start your application process, please visit our website.
