During our two-year Massage Therapy diploma program, MaKami College students will learn about the human body and get hands-on training in basic and advanced Massage Therapy techniques.
Begin your Massage Therapy course by learning the foundations of the human body with courses in anatomy, physiology, pathology and neurology. Build your practical skills, starting with basic Swedish and deep tissue massages, assessment methods and manual applications. Apply these techniques during a two-week clinical placement, as well as in the on-site supervised Massage Therapy clinic for work experience.
In the second year, you will advance your learning about Massage Therapy through a more medical lens; focusing on sports massage, injury rehabilitation and orthopedic techniques.
By expanding your experience to include treatment and prevention of injuries related to motor vehicle accidents, professional sports athletes, medical rehabilitation and hospital illness via a blend of online and in-person classes, you’ll cover the basics of the role of a Health Care Aide, build practical skills, proper care guidelines and procedures of client care.
