MaKami Pancake Breakfast Wins Award for Stampede Spirit

July 20, 2023 – MaKami College is excited to have received the Stampede Spirit Recognition award from the Calgary Stampede Committee for its third annual pancake breakfast held on Saturday, July 8, 2023. 

“We are honoured to be recognized by the committee,” says Marija Pavkovic-Tovissi, CEO of MaKami College. “We are proud to be an active part of our community, holding events like the pancake breakfast to bring people together in a fun and safe environment.” 

The 2023 MaKami Stampede Breakfast served more than 10,000 pancakes, cheese omelettes, turkey sausages (cooked separately), fruit cups and refreshments.

The event also included a DJ, live music and a fun kids zone with games and face painting.

“Our area is historically known for its community events, and although that has faded over the past few years since Sears left the building, we are more than happy to be bringing it back,” Pavkovic-Tovissi said. “We are also proud to continue being a part of the action on the grounds throughout stampede with our award-winning booth at the BMO Centre.”

MaKami has been supporting the Calgary Stampede for seven years, most recently featuring a unique booth experience with free seated massages, games, and a family friendly contest. Learn more about MaKami’s 2023 Calgary Stampede booth.
