MaKami CEO Named as a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2024

CALGARY – MaKami College CEO Marija Pavkovic was named as a prairie finalist for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2024 in June 2024.

“This is so exciting,” Pavkovic-Tovissi says in response to the news announcement made on June 5, 2024. “It’s an honour to be recognized by such an established, international entrepreneur organization and among such reputable peers in Canada.” 

Pavkovic-Tovissi was named alongside 160 other Canadian entrepreneur finalists. Selected by an independent panel of judges, businesses from coast-to-coast have been recognized for their value creation, purpose-driven leadership and the impact of their work on communities around them.  

“This year’s finalists exemplify the caliber of entrepreneurs we have championed in our program for the past three decades,” says Rachel Rodrigues, EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Canada Program Director. “From real estate and energy to technology and beyond, each of these entrepreneurs is unlocking new sources of value for the Canadian economy, while also leading the way in sustainable and socially responsible business practices.”

Now celebrating its 30^th year anniversary in Canada, the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year program recognizes entrepreneurs who continuously repaint and reframe our economy from innovative angles through their unique visions and hard work. Since 1994, the program has celebrated the accomplishments of hundreds of diverse Canadian entrepreneurs and CEOs who are helping to deliver the innovation, growth and prosperity that transform our world.

MaKami College is a post-secondary college with locations in Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta. MaKami opened in 2001 and grew to become the largest massage therapy school in Alberta, teaching students to become highly trained massage therapists with our 3,000 Hour Advanced Clinical Massage Therapy Diploma program. Since that time, the school has grown to include programs for Health Care Aide, Business Administrative Assistant, Medical Office Assistant, Master Instructor, and Alberta Basic Security Training.
