About the Role
The successful candidate will work closely with children between the ages of 12 months and 5 years, delivering engaging programming that supports learning through play and exploration. The role involves creating developmentally appropriate activities, encouraging emotional growth, and helping children build important social and cognitive skills.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing warm, responsive, and respectful care to children.
- Implementing play-based learning experiences and curriculum activities.
- Supporting emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and positive social interactions.
- Documenting children’s learning and developmental milestones.
- Participating in outdoor learning, nature-based activities, and community engagement experiences.
- Maintaining a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Collaborating with colleagues and families to support children’s success.
Qualifications
Connections ELCC is looking for candidates who are passionate about early learning and dedicated to creating positive experiences for children. Applicants should possess:
- Alberta Level 3 Early Childhood Educator Certification
- Valid First Aid in Child Care Certification
- Current Police Information Check and Child Intervention Record Check
- Experience working with children aged 12 months to 5 years
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of play-based learning, emergent curriculum, and inclusive practices.
