If you’re interested in becoming a Business Administrative Assistant, you’ll want to know the career paths & industries it can take you to.

What is a Business Administrative Assistant?

A Business Administrative Assistant, or Business Administrator, is a role with a wide range of responsibilities, depending on the place of employment. A Business Administrator will likely work behind a desk in some capacity, and can perform typical administrative roles such as booking appointments, managing files and preparing documents. In some workplaces, they may also be responsible for assisting in other areas, such as scheduling social media content, planning events or other marketing activities. This role is a crucial part of many businesses, and requires a person who has a strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

We find that students who have completed MaKami’s Business Administrative Assistant program are often highly sought after, as they learn the most up-to-date practical skills for today’s workplaces.

How do I become a Business Administrative Assistant?

MaKami’s 10-month diploma program teaches you the fundamentals you’ll need to know to work as a Business Administrative Assistant. You can read our Business Administration program curriculum to find out more.

In this online course, you’ll cover courses including communication skills, managing client relations, file and records management, event planning and social media engagement, as well as a range of essential computer skills.

You’ll finish the course with an ePortfolio showing off your skills as an online resume, meaning you’ll be ready to find a job upon completion.

Because this is an online program, you can more easily include it in your busy schedule. But for those concerned about the lack of engagement in an online course, MaKami’s program also includes opportunities to work with your fellow online students, and our instructor is always available to help answer any questions you may have.

Our intakes start every month, so if you’re interested in the course, take the pre-approval survey today.

You might be eligible for a scholarship or financial assistance, so contact a student advisor if you want to ask more.

What kinds of industries can I work in?

Our students have used this course to move into industries like health care, legal and financial businesses as well as spa and leisure businesses. You can browse available job listings on the MaKami website to see the range of positions available, including Spa Receptionist, Salon Assistant and Medical Office receptionist.

Essentially, any industry that needs a business administrative assistant could be a suitable path for a graduate of this course.
