It’s Important to Know Your Student Loan Status
While you are a full time student at MaKami College, you are not expected to make any student loan payments and your loan remains interest free.
Prior to graduation, the SAS department will contact you to discuss your repayment obligations and to help you understand the repayment process.
Post graduation, your Alberta and Canada Student Loan will enter into a 6 month Grace Period in which your loan remains payment-free and interest-free. At the end of this Grace Period, you will be notified by Alberta Student Aid and National Student Loan Service Centre on when you will be required to begin your repayments. If you would like to change the terms of this repayment or extend your Grace Period, you can do so by applying for Repayment Assistance at Repayment | Alberta Student Aid
If you have not created a student loan repayment plan or need assistance with maintaining your current student loan repayment plan, please contact us and ask to speak to the SAS Financial Coordinator for individualized student loan advice.
