MaKami College massage therapy students provide seated massages inside teh BMO Centre during the Calgary Stampede in 2019

CALGARY, AB – MaKami College is excited to announce it will be back at the Calgary Stampede this year providing safe, free seated massages therapy services to attendees.

“We’re so happy that the Stampede is back on, and we’re proud to be a part of it,” says MaKami’s CEO Marija Pavkovic-Tovissi. “This is a great opportunity to support the local community and economy, as well as the safe re-opening of our city.”

MaKami’s tent will be booth #900 inside the BMO Centre. Massages will be provided by students from the school’s 3,000 hour Advanced Clinical Massage Therapy Program.

A number of precautions will be taken throughout the event to ensure health and safety protocols are in place, including shortened treatment times, extra space between seated massage chairs to promote physical distancing, pre-booked appointments with breaks between so students can full sanitize stations between treatments, enforcing masks for both therapists and clients and the use of medical-grade sanitizers and surface cleaners.

“We are very confident in the procedures we and the Stampede have in place to help prevent the spread of Covid-19,” says Pavkovic-Tovissi. “We encourage people to come visit the grounds this year and experience all it has to offer – including free massages!”
