We acknowledge MaKami College campuses, in both Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta, are located on traditional gathering places for many Indigenous people of Treaty Six and Treaty Seven Territories.

This includes the homeland of the Métis Nation (Region 4), as well as the traditional territories of the Nehiyaw (Cree), Denesuline (Dene), Nakota Sioux (Stoney), Anishinaabe (Salteaux) and Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) in Treaty 6, and the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai of the Blackfoot Nations, the Tsuut’’ina and Stoney Nakoda First Nations, and the Métis Nation (Region 3) in Treaty 7.

We honour and respect the history, languages, ceremonies and cultures of all the Nations who live, work, and play here, help us steward this land and honour and celebrate this region. We commit to working and living in right relations to advance Truth and Reconciliation.
