What Prospective Students Should Consider When Applying

Returning to school can be a great decision and can open many new options for you. Whether you want to improve your skills, expand your career options, or explore new paths, going back to school can provide the necessary qualifications to achieve your goals and unlock new opportunities, as well as increase your income and help you get a better job.

If you’re thinking about going back to school to improve your career opportunities, here’s what you can expect from the application process to the support you can receive as a student

MaKami College Admission Process: Step-by-Step

  1. Explore Your Program Options: Discover the programs that align with your interests and goals. There are lots of programs available for all interests and abilities!

  1. Get Pre-Approved: Not sure if you meet all the requirements for the program you want to take? Fill out our Pre-approval Survey and find out right now if you’re ready to apply!
  2. Contact Us: Our dedicated Student Advisors are here to answer all your questions!  They can provide detailed information about our programs so you know you’re choosing the right one. They can also help with your application and answer questions about admission requirements.
  3. Schedule an Interview: After submitting your application, we’ll schedule an interview to discuss your expectations and goals. This is an opportunity for us to get to know you better and ensure that MaKami College is the right fit for you.
  4. Receive an Admission Decision: Within a few days of your interview, you’ll receive an admission decision. If accepted, you’ll receive a letter of acceptance and an enrollment agreement outlining the terms and conditions of your enrollment.

Understanding the Admission Requirements

It’s helpful to understand the admission requirements before applying so you have a good idea of the next step you will take. Different programs may have different requirements, so it’s best to contact us and confirm that you meet the requirements for the program you want to apply for.

MaKami College General Admission Requirements for Canadian Students:

  • Being at least 17 years of age
  • Have a high school diploma or non-Alberta equivalent. 
  • Successful interview with school administration 
  • Successful completion of a Wonderlic Exam equal to grade 12 or above OR successful completion of a post-secondary program in Canada. 

MaKami College International Students Admission Requirements:

  • Be 17 years of age or older. 
  • Provide international educational documentation for review. Transcripts submitted in a language other than English can be translated in English and authenticated by MaKami College Inc. 
  • Obtain and provide evidence of a study permit for the duration of the program before you arrive and begin your program.
  • Demonstrate competence in the English language.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

Financing your education is an important consideration. We offer various financial aid and scholarship options to support you on your educational journey and make your education more affordable.

What kind of jobs can I get after graduation?

The career opportunities available to you depend on the program you choose. Many of our programs include practicums, which provide valuable hands-on experience and opportunities to connect with potential employers. We also offer additional resources, such as onsite career fairs, career counseling and a job board to assist students in finding employment.
