Health Care Aides Needed - AdvoCare Health Services

JOB POSTING: AdvoCare Health Services is currently hiring for a number of permanent part and full-time Care Aide positions, at their complex care facility in Nelson, BC. Offer competitive wages and healthcare benefits (minimum hours required), as well as a relocation bonus of $ 1,000.00 and a referral bonus of $1,000.00. Also available, an Education Bonus of $500.00/month to a max. of 6 month (up to $3,000.00) for those who graduated from a CareAide course after January 2018 (conditions will apply for all bonuses). Application for bonuses are open until February 28, 2018 or until lines are filled. All applicants must be eligible to work in Canada, with a valid SIN. Temporary Foreign Workers must have a valid work or study permit. Assistance with finding accommodations available as requested.

 

KEY DUTIES

 Completes tasks outlined in care plan, residents’ days or, in Assisted Living environment, personal service plans,

 Completes tasks as per shift specific routines/checklists, including tasks which may be delegated by a nurse,

 Reports and documents according to company and contract partner procedures,

 May participate in care conferences,

 May participate in Health & Safety or related committees,

 Supports infection control practices,

 Works collaboratively with recreation staff in supporting resident and home leisure or recreation activities,

 Supports dining experience which includes porting, serving and clearing of meals,

 Assists residents or clients in maintaining a tidy and hygienic environment while encouraging utilization of residual skills where feasible,

 Assists with new resident admissions including documenting on the resident day, labeling clothing and orientation to routines,

 Operate equipment as per operating instructions,

 May include bathing of own residents or, serving as primary spa staff and,

 Answers phone and relays messages in polite, effective manner but defers clinical issues to nurse or manager.

 Contributes to RAI processes

 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

 Clear Criminal Record Check,​

 BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registration Number

 WHMIS, Food Safe and other conditions of hire as reflected in the hiring process,

 Fitness required to complete the duties associated with this job description,

 Vaccinations, TB test and/or x-ray as required by licensing,

 

EDUCATION

 Completion of a Health Care Aide course or equivalent. At AdvoCare, equivalent is considered to reflect those applicants who are non-practicing RNs or LPNs who provide evidence of previous certification and is registered, display competencies as required to complete duties outlined in this job description or, is a

student nurse whose instructor confirms has work readiness skills for this discipline.

 All above registered with the BC Care Aide Registry

 

Salary: $18.11 per hour to start - $19.34 after 1950 hours
