Sports and deep tissue workshops coming in July

Hey students! We have some great workshops coming to Makami College in July!

James Mally, N.D., will be coming to MaKami College in Edmonton in March to teach two seminars – one on sports massage and one on deep tissue. These seminars are open to all massage therapy students at the school.

Couples Massage Workshop for the public on Sunday, Feb. 12

On February 12 MaKami College will be hosting a Valentine’s Day Couple’s Massage Workshop for the public!

During the workshop here at the massage therapy school in Edmonton, couples or close friends will learn how to relax, relieve stress and bond through the art of massage.

The workshop starts with a rose petal foot scrub and is followed by a quick lesson in how to massage your partner. You will each be given easy-to-follow massage routines, have some time to massage each other and you can even take the routines home with you to use later.

Spa Techniques Accredited Course

Cost: $ 1000 includes all supplies for classroom instruction

Dates: Starting January 3rd, 2012.

Prerequisite: Must be a Licensed Massage Therapist and a graduate from MaKami’s 1st Year.
MaKami College Inc. offers a 250-hour Spa Techniques accredited course for those Licensed Massage Therapists interested in increasing their hours or looking to expand their expertise in the spa industry. What you will learn in the Spa Techniques course is everything from utilizing different forms of scrubs and wraps to bamboo massage, hot stone massage, herbal compress massage and numerous other spa massage therapy techniques. Prerequisite: Must be a Licensed Massage Therapist

Sports massage was originally developed to help athletes prepare their bodies for optimal performance, recover after a big event, or function well during training. Sports massage emphasizes prevention and healing of injuries. Today you do not have to be an athlete to benefit from sports massage. Sports massage is also good for people with injuries, chronic pain or restricted range of motion. Certificate is given upon successful completion of the Sports Massage Therapy Course.
